10 Reasons Why Chiropractic Is A Necessity

Updated: Sep 7, 2021

1. Chiropractic Is Prevention Oriented

Regularly scheduled adjustments are an integral part of the chiropractic lifestyle that focuses on preventing illness and disease. It is not meant to mask symptoms. When nerves are stressed within joints, a condition called a vertebral subluxation occurs. When it is not cared for, an array of symptoms may be experienced, from headaches and upset stomach to carpal tunnel syndrome and colic. Adjustments are a safe and gentle way to prevent illness and disease by allowing nerves to function properly.

2. Chiropractic Care Plans Are NOT Arbitrary

Chiropractic care is customized for each patient. Therapies and frequency are selected just for you by Dr. Fiore order to serve you best. By missing appointments, you are questioning his care plan that he has outlined for you.

3. Chiropractic Is A Partnership

Chiropractic care has the strongest effect when patients are actively engaged. Dr. Fiore prefers that patients work to understand their role by showing up for appointments, asking questions, and doing their “homework” when assigned (exercise, nutritional modifications, and stress reduction techniques).

4. Chiropractic Care Is Cumulative

During each appointment, progress is made towards the cumulative result. Missing appointments breaks this continuum of care and can result in missing out on the full therapeutic benefits of chiropractic care.

5. Chiropractic May Boost Immune Function

One study indicates that chiropractic adjustments boost polymorphonuclear neutrophils (PMN) and monocytes – white blood cells associated with a healthy immune system (read more about the study here). Chiropractic care could also aid in lowering blood pressure by promoting stress reduction. Other studies have linked chiropractic care with a reduced risk of developing chronic pain, Parkinson’s disease, infantile colic, ear infections, multiple sclerosis, and fibromyalgia.

6. Chiropractic Quells Stress And Fear

Regular adjustments help patients learn how to manage stress and minimize the impact that it has on their body. Many people will miss appointments with their doctors because of fear or anxiety of the treatment or bad news they may receive. Chiropractors ease those fears by explaining the procedures. One study found that less anxiety about chiropractic care results in a faster recovery from stress. Keeping appointments helps dispel anxiety, alleviate fear, and speed up healing.

7. Chiropractic Boots Athletic Performance

Elite athletes (Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong) use chiropractic care to reach maximum performance. Chiropractic care boosts performance by strengthening the body’s entire musculotskeletal system. The NFL has gained an understanding of the benefits, and if they aren’t one of the 31% of teams that have a chiropractor on staff, they refer their players out to one.

8. Chiropractic Fuels Cognitive Function

Brain mapping before and after adjustments of the cervical spine reveal that cognitive function is stimulated by chiropractic care. In addition, cervical adjustments enhance response mechanisms in the brain leading to increased reaction time to various stimulation.

9. Chiropractic Enhances Work Performance

Regularly scheduled appointments can help improve performance at work by warding off injuries, including carpal tunnel syndrome and low-back pain. A study looked at 250 employees who filed workers compensation claims for low back pain. Of those in the study, 72 employees did not have physical therapy. Patients who received spinal manipulation experienced greater reductions in pain and disability which lead to lower therapeutic costs and a quicker return to work.

10. Keeping Your Appointments Is Respectful To Other Patients

Each time you “skip” your appointment without alerting us in advance, it’s disrespectful to eve10-reasons-why-chiropractic-is-a-necessityryone. Particularly because another patient may have to suffer an extra day because our schedule was originally booked full. We do understand that emergencies happen and advance notice isn’t always possible. But, more often than not, it is. Knowing about cancellations in advance gives our office the opportunity to reassign and reschedule your appointment. One way to help remember your appointments is to schedule them ahead of time so that you are ensured the same time every time which makes remembering your appointment day and time a breeze. With our new scheduling software, we have the ability to set your account up with an alert notification via text or email. If you have not set this up yet, please ask to do so on your next visit in. We look forward to seeing you at your next appointment!
